this week and weekend really haven't been all that exciting and noteworthy whatsoever.
wednesday we had bad storms come thru the area, so my own personal weather center, the mollie kerscher center for weather tracking and general paranoia, was in full effect, getting text messages on her phone and tracking the weather system via radar on the TV as well as her computer. i watched tv, but we were ready.
thursday we decided to take a chance and headed to the cyclones game(minor hockey team) with some dan, tara, and her family. the $10 dollar tickets gave us seats about 14 rows up from the ice. it was game 6 of the kelly cup (the ECHL's version of the stanley cup). in front of the 12,600 fans, the cyclones WON! we got to see them celebrate their championship winning season. it was the largest crowd in ECHL history! even better that we got to see it...and win :D. after getting home from the game, i started detailing my mom's car(a thank you gift for the help she gave us throughout the whole landscaping thing). at 2am i had to quit.
friday, woke up at 8:30, started working on waxing the car and finalizing the detailing process. after 10am..dripped the car off, got grocerries, cut and edged the lawn, went to workout, went to a low key night at dana's. came to find out that brian and julie are going to be moving to milwakee next month(to which i informed him he should not pee in the woods outside of the brewers stadium...or it will cost him 175 bucks).
saturday was a low key day. we went bike shopping for mollie. after hours of running around, we were able to get her a real nice mountain bike, Specialized Rockhoper. It cost a pretty penny. Guess the TV will have to wait longer...but you have to pay to get a nice product. After that we went low key, headed over the Schwabs, helped moved some furniture, had dinner there, and just chilled for the night.
suday: woke up, i watched "no country for old men" it was a good movie, but i don't know if it was as AWESOME as everyone made it out to be. i worked in the garage cleaning up the mess i had allowed to pile up(and still plenty left to do). mollie and i took a bike ride around the neighborhood. played some mario kart and went to dinner at the parents house. now watching the cubs till the new episode of law and order: ci comes on at 9.
i have to say: the incredible hulk movie looks more and more interesting each day i see previews for it.

Past Two Weekends Updates
the last two weeks have gone by without much word from us here at the beda house.
well may 23rd came, and it being my birthday, i celebrated it like any other person: sitting 8 hours in a saturn vue thru kentucky, west virginia, virginia, and into north carolina. it was memorial day weekend were we spent my birthday weekend drinking beer, playing cornhole, eating fried food, and watching NASCAR's go around the lowes speeday for 400 laps. yes, the beda clan experienced nascar and the associated insanity that comes along with it. i will simply highlight some things from that were uttered repeatedly this weeked:
this last weekend the beda clan laid low. my jetta needed severe attention in the cleaning/wax/detail department. i spent the better of the weekend(i don't want to think about the actual hours) the jetta is back and working well. unfortunately my back and neck are a complete different story.
i have recently discovered a wonderful lebanise/greek restaurant that has huge meals for little price. their felafel is out of this world and their gyro is phenomenal and more than 1 person can eat in a sitting. the drive is well forth it. their food is so good i'm willing to ignore their complete lack of understanding what timely service.
so a year older, but i don't think a year more mature.
too tired to think of any witty responses anymore. this is for me.

- asian whore house!
- i'm a 6'2" mass of hot man
- beer makes it beer, BMB!
- it's a girl. it's a lobster. it's lobster girl!
- not another god damn SHONEYS!
- y'all need a buggy?

Operation: We Rock. Completed.
what has seemed to be an unending trip thru hell has finally come to a close.
as of 6pm on saturday may 17th, the landscaping project was completed. the project up to that point has resulted in the following:
saturday came early, and at 8am i was putting in our new walkway lights, and arranging the large rocks around the tree for the mulch. re-edged the border around the stone walls, moved some rocks around, and kept working. after that, we kept adding rocks into various places, and finally at 2pm had offically rid ourselves of the gravel that was in our driveway since 3 weekends ago. after using my mk2 gti as a hauler, mollie and i estimated the perfect number of mulch bags needed. 6 bags later, we were finished! the yard looks amazing, and once it rains, the dirt of the rocks will settle and i think we will really see the hard work pay off.(not that it looks bad now).
mollie jamed out and went to dinner w/ some friends, and i went on errands. only to realize that i hadn't eaten anything for the majority of the day. thanks again AMP sugar-free :D
this weekend we also found out that our friends pete and tara will be parents in december, so congrats to them. now pete and i have a built in DD who can't get drunk regardless of the situation. we bestowed on them 5 different boxes of brownie mix, hershey kisses, and 4 different hershey bars (tara now has a sweet tooth, for the first time in her life...damn pregnancy cravings).
sunday was a day of complete and total rest. our bodies were drained, i was sore just wore out. watched tv, cleaned the patio and the furniture, created a bigger mess in the garage. after all that, i took my nap to the cubs game on WGN...which is the only way for me to nap.
as for this upcoming weekend, this friday we hop in the car w/ jojo and andy and roll down to charlotte for the NASCAR race! nothing like spending my birthday weekend at a race-track, drinking beer, and people watching.
photos will come this evening when i get home.
as of 6pm on saturday may 17th, the landscaping project was completed. the project up to that point has resulted in the following:
- 4 cubic yards of rocks. 3 yards of rooftop gravel, 1 yard of large creek rock ~ $210 bucks.

- 4 rolls of black landscaping paper and the respective anchors ~ $70 bucks
- 6 bags of mulch ~ $17 bucks
- 14 new shrubs/bushes/trees and 6 decorative rocks -- free thanks to my mom's generosity. but if i had to the the math, in excess of $350 bucks.
- cost in diet mt.dew and sugar free amp ~ $40 bucks.
- having this landscaping projects finished and not having to worry about landscaping with mulch -- PRICELESS.

more fun for the whole family....
the weekend projects of landscaping are slowly starting to come to a close as we spent another weekend day in the garden.
wednesday, thursday, and friday's wasted rainy days were trumped by the wonderful sunshine of saturday. the east side of the house was prepped, covered, and covered in gravel. we then went over to the parents house to help them mulch. i then followed up and helped a friend get a couch from value city and move it into his apartment. we then followed that up with some grilling at the millan mansion.
sunday brought us the wonderful rain yet again(once again causing pent up agression toward these annoying weather patterns). we decided to be pro-active and help our friend jojo paint her house. well, specifically paint the 25" foyer over a split level staircase. while i do not have photographic evidence, i did do my best high wire act impression on a ladder while painting the edge of the wall and ceiling. after about 4-5 hours of painting, the house is really looking nice, the foyer is cleaned up, freshly painted, and looking great!
perhaps we could have spend the day at home relaxing, but hey, that's what friends do. they show up way too early on sunday and start working on someone else's house (don't get any ideas). the foyer project was pretty intense and required someone who was tall and good with a brush. so it worked in my favor(or it worked against me in retrospect). after that, we traveled the wonderful rain soaked to my parents house for mothers day dinner. on a spur of the moment decision, we went out and saw iron man.
good flick, but i was pissed b/c i was ROBBED of my batman: dark knight trailer...instead, i had to be subjected to seeing previews for "Don't Mess with the Zohan" trailer(another adam sandler disaster).
and now i sit inside, on a nice sunny day.
weather -- you can suck a big one.

Rest of the weekend....
well, the rest of the weekend was rather uneventful and unemotional(which was good for everyone).
friday: got up, drove to dayton to get stuff for mollie's car, drove back, ordered 1" washed gravel for the landscaping project around the house. spent WAY too much money on 4 lights, a transitor, cable, and some black paper to put under the rocks.
saturday: said goodbye to dosie. went back and start work on the house. put some paper down, put some gravel down. repeat. OVER and over again. the fun ended when the typhoon-like winds simply made work unbearable.
sunday: more outside work. more black paper, more rocks. repeat over and over. fixed the back steps. planted bushes and perenials. pretty much all weekend was spend covered in dirt, sweat, and more dirt. no need for the gym when you have landscaping to do.
the beauty of owning a house. there are always things to work on. ALWAYS. and they ALWAYS cost a lot of money. goodbye rebate check.
we didn't do anything fun. we went and hung w/ jojo and lilly on saturday. no wild stories. no wild parties. nothing to talk about. just a low-key weekend for some homeowners with a lot of projects on their hands.
